Every person you meet marks the way.

Nomad Cairn helps you remember the people you have actually met, and turns those real connections into clients, collaborators, and cofounders.

Cairn (say “kairn”): a stack of stones that marks the trail.

You swap Instagram. Then they disappear.

You meet someone at a coliving in Lisbon, a coworking space in Bali, a meetup in Mexico City. Three months later you cannot remember what they do, where you met, or what they were looking for. The person who could have been your next client is buried in a contact list you never open.

The problem

It happens every time.

You meet someone at a coworking space in Bali. Great conversation. You swap Instagram.

Two days later, you remember the face but not the name.

Two weeks later, you remember the name but not what they do.

Two months later, you’re in different cities, and they’re gone.

Not because you didn’t care. You just meet a lot of people, and everyone is always on their way somewhere else.

Instagram remembers that you followed them. It doesn’t remember why.

On every trail, someone left a stone.

On mountain paths and desert roads, travelers stack stones into cairns. Each one says: someone passed this way, and the path is real. Those who come later do not need a map. They follow the markers.

The people you meet while living and working around the world are the same. Every one of them is a stone on your trail.

Most of us lose them.

A marker that says the path is real — and someone came before.

What it does

A place for the people you’ve met.

Their name and photo. What they do. Where you met. Where they are now. The thing they mentioned about their dog, or the studio they’re about to open. Whatever you’d forget in a week.

So the next time you see them, or the next time you need someone like them, you remember.

And what they’re after

Open to. Looking for.

Everyone you meet is working on something. A designer who needs a developer. A founder looking for his first ten users. A freelancer with room for one more project. Most of the time you never find out.

When they join, they can tell you themselves. Someday you’ll need exactly that person. Or they’ll need you.

Not strangers

Not another place full of strangers.

LinkedIn is thousands of people you’ve never met, congratulating each other on work anniversaries. Upwork is strangers underbidding each other for the same job.

Nomad Cairn starts the other way around. You already met. Same table, same bad Wi-Fi, same long conversation. The trust is already there. We just help you keep it.

Start with people, not profiles.

Add a stone for everyone you meet.

Remember them

Name, photo, skills, where you met, which city they are in now, and the small details you want to remember next time.

FreelancersBuildersFoundersRemote workersDigital nomads

People who figured out their own way of working and are scattered across the world doing it. Most of us found our work through someone we met, not a job board. The designer from the coliving. The founder from the Friday dinner. The stranger at a conference who needed exactly what you do.

This is a place for those people. Not a corporate directory. Not a feed. Just the people you’d actually message.

Built for people building their own way.

Digital nomads

Keep the people you meet in every new city.

Freelancers

Find your next client among people who already trust you.

Solo founders and indie hackers

Your first collaborators may already be on your trail.

Remote workers

Turn coworking and meetup friendships into lasting working relationships.

People building independently

Start with people you know, not a cold marketplace.

Founder story

Sample founder portrait

I spent eight years working as a software engineer across Asia and North America. Then, at the end of 2024, I got laid off. Instead of jumping back into another corporate job, I saw it as an opportunity to try something different: building a business of my own. I started freelancing, and as I gradually built a steady stream of clients and income, I began building my own AI SaaS products. Today, I've built a life where I can travel the world as a digital nomad, work on my own terms, and most importantly, work for myself.

Along the way, I realized that the most meaningful opportunities rarely came from job boards. They came from people I had actually met.

A conversation with someone I met at a tech exhibition later turned into a real app development project. It reminded me that your next opportunity may already exist somewhere in your real-world network.

I built Nomad Cairn so those people never disappear into a forgotten contact list, and so independent people can build careers and businesses through relationships they already trust.

Why I built it

The best opportunities in my career rarely came from job boards. They came from people.

I’ve met a lot of people on the road. Coworking spaces, colivings, meetups, dinners that turned into three-hour conversations.

And I kept losing them. Not on purpose. I’d forget a name within a week. I’d remember the face but not what they did. I’d have their Instagram, and six weeks later we were in different countries and it had gone quiet.

The funny thing is, almost every real opportunity I’ve had came from someone I met in person. A conversation at a tech exhibition turned into a real app project. Not a job board. A person.

That's why I built Nomad Cairn: A place to remember the people you meet, the conversations you've had, and the connections worth keeping. Not another social network for collecting followers, but something built around real-world relationships and the possibilities that come from them.

Because I believe building a career, a business, or a life with more freedom doesn't have to be something you figure out alone.

A few good questions.

Is this a dating app?

No. Nomad Cairn is for the working relationships you form while living, working, and building around the world.

Is it only for digital nomads?

No. Nomads are the first community, but it is for freelancers, founders, remote workers, and anyone building independent work.

Is this another LinkedIn?

No. LinkedIn is a public career profile, and most of your connections are people you’ve never met. Nomad Cairn is private and starts with people you’ve actually met. It keeps what a Connect button can’t: where you met, what they do, what they need, and when to follow up.

Is it like Upwork?

No. There’s no bidding and no strangers competing on price. You already know the people in your cairn, and they already know you. So when someone needs help, or you do, it starts as a conversation, not a proposal.

How does Nomad Cairn help opportunities happen?

Sooner or later, someone you’ve met needs a hand. A founder needs help with marketing. A business owner needs a developer. Instead of searching through strangers on Upwork or LinkedIn, you may already know the right person, because you’ve actually met.

Nomad Cairn helps you remember who they are, what they’re good at, and what they’re open to, so when the moment comes, you think of them first. And it works the other way too: the people who’ve met you are the ones most likely to think of you.

What does cairn mean?

A cairn is a stack of stones that marks a trail. Each person you remember becomes another marker that helps you find your way back.
